LG Optimus : An Impressive Phone

By Mark Walters

When looking at the LG Optimus at first glance, you will notice the 3" TFT touch screen display, which features a stunning array of 256 colors. If you are tired of the same old black smartphone, you can get either the gray, pink or white varieties. You will be amazed at just how responsive you will find the LG Optimus - this is due to the expansive 600 MHz processor, which allows you to navigate the menus easily without any lag that will slow you down.

The Android 1.6 operating system has been installed to power up the Optimus, and the operating system uses the S-class interface with an updated version for today's user. The Optimus allows you to choose your own home screen options as well. You may choose the basic Android home screen, or you can select customized options that provide quick access to your messaging services as well as customized widgets, shortcuts and program folders right on the screen.

With the powerful battery featured in the LG Optimus, you can easily talk for more than 400 minutes before it goes dead, or even 500 hours if you want to keep it on standby. This is great news for you people who are in constant contact with the people on your contacts list - this way, you do not have to scramble for the charger so often. You will also find it easy to navigate the keyboard you can find on the screen, not to mention surfing the Internet.

With the LG Optimus, you get an innovative 3 megapixel camera, which, while it is not the best camera you will find on a phone, is perfectly serviceable for what most people need. Besides, you are not opening an art gallery with your phone - simply taking a few snapshots which you can use to upload to your Facebook or Myspace accounts!

If you want a great entry level smartphone, look no further than the LG Optimus. It is no iPhone substitute, but it looks great, and has plenty of features that will more than make up for the modest price you can find for it, which is normally about $300. This can change depending on your service provider and your country of residence; just shop around to see what sort of discounts you can find in your area.
