Internet Connections- Finding The One That Is Right For You

By Brian Lakeman

Not all internet connections are alike. If you have been to visit a friend or stayed in a more remote area you have probably noticed that people who have a high speed web connection, DSL, cable internet, or satellite broadband service are genuinely blessed.

High speed internet is not available in all parts and several struggle still attempting to load pages on a dial up internet system that is slow when it is working at all. If you currently have a high speed internet connection and have the possibilities to give dial up a shot, you won't believe the big difference. It could be difficult to conceive that at a time this was a satisfactory speed of service.

High speed internet gives you a chance to research and work more rapidly to reach the information you need and with a dial up service you without question will not simply go online to look up a phone number or address, since this is usually a long and exasperating process. You would be much better served tracking down the phone book and searching for the information you are needing in the phone book. It may perhaps sound silly however dial up service is actually that sluggish.

If you are suffering with a dial up connection and have contacted your local phone companies and internet providers and have yet to find one that is offering a broadband or cable internet option, then there may still be hope. You can try to contact a cell phone company and find out if they can sell you a wireless internet adapter that will enable you to pick up a higher speed of internet from one of their nearby towers when you are at your home. Most people don't consider this option merely because they don't realize that it exists. You can actually purchase this type of high speed internet card for not only for your laptop but for your home computer as well. This card will allow you to receive a higher speed internet connection from a nearby tower and save you the headache of trying to find an internet provider that has wires established in your area.

Receiving internet connection via a wireless carrier is not always as reliable as through a system that is hard wired but it definitely will work better than any dial up service that you have. Plus it won't tie up your phone lines which is another big benefit to freeing yourself from that dial up service.
