Ipad: Tips, Tricks And Advice You Can Use

By Blanch McConomy

The simplicity of the iPad is both what makes it so attractive and what can make it difficult to use. It takes a good base of knowledge to be able to turn the iPad from a fun toy into a real tool. This article has all the advice you need, so read on.

Never leave your iPad in a hot car or any similar environment. The intense heat saps devices of battery power. Exposing it to extreme heat and light can affect the battery's ability to hold a charge for long periods. This type of damage is not covered in your warranty, making this a pricey mistake.

You don't have to sync to iTunes to get documents from your iPad to your computer! Just use Share to email the documents from the tablet to your email account anywhere, be it on your computer at home, work or school. You can email it in PDF or Word document format.

There is a way to add a Google calendar to an iPad calendar. On an iPad, go to Settings and open Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Add your account, then tap Other. Tap Add CalDAV Account, and enter all of your Google Account information. Exit your Settings menu and tap on Calendar to see everything. It will show all calendars by default, but tapping on the Calendars button can let you choose which ones are displayed.

The iPad is a great device, but you don't need to upgrade every time Apple releases a new one. While they do have some nice changes between generations, you can generally skip a generation or two without losing out on too much. Save yourself stress and money by buying one generation behind.

You do not have to access the second screen of your keyboard if you need an apostrophe. You should instead tap and hold the exclamation point key and an apostrophe will appear for you to select. You can also make typing easier by purchasing a wireless keyboard or even a case with a built-in keyboard.

The iPad's second keyboard is full of special characters, but it can be tiresome attempting to engage this new window over and over again. Holding the "?" key and quotations will pop up in their place. This is a quick save that prevents wasted time and unneeded button presses. If you are quoting a reference or part of speech, this will become a handy hotkey.

You can skim over your mail without having to read them. The initial settings only let you glimpse a bit of your mail. Go to the settings feature and click on the Mail, Contacts and Calendars tab. Select the option of "5 lines" under the preview function. This will enable you to see 5 lines of your mail and decide if you want to read further.

Put a screen protector on your iPad. It does not interfere with the visibility of the display. The screen protector protects your iPad from oils and dirt from your fingers. It is great way to prevent your screen from permanent scratches. If the protector is scratched, it can be easily replace.

To prevent unwanted app purchases, turn off your in-app purchases. Visit your Settings menu, then General, followed by Restrictions and select Enable Restrictions. You can select what you would like to restrict. Your options include content, game center, apps and others. Disable the In-app purchases under the setting Allowed content to protect your credit card information.

With the tips here, you are now geared to make your iPad the machine you need it to be. Whether you want to use it for word processing or just game play, it can be all you need and more. Enjoy your new technology and take good care of it so it can last for many years.
