What Is A Satellite Phone?

By George Regan

What's a satellite telephone? In regular English (without having all the high-tech lingo that generally goes together with electronic equipment), it is a phone that receives and delivers it is signal from satellites up within the sky, instead of relying on unpredictable cellular phone towers on the ground.

How is that helpful? Consider it for a minute. For what ever reason, the earth has been going through some extremely strange weather conditions. We've had record-breaking earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and tsunamis. Due to these horrific disasters, communication towers for cell phones, as well as land lines, have been wiped out. This has literally made it impossible for our communication-dependent society to function when a disaster like that strikes. For that reason ALONE, it just makes sense for our contemporary society to put those resources in space, where they won't be harmed, or destroyed, by these natural occurrences!

Let's scale it down a bit bit. Luckily, not everyone will need to go via the terror that natural disasters can bring. But, have you ever discovered your self out of ones 'calling area', and you essential a telephone, but were fully stuck without service? Nearly every person has been in, or can identify with, that situation. It's a pretty helpless, hopeless scenario, is not it? Having a satellite telephone entirely eliminates that concern. There won't even be the aggravation of dropped calls, simply because satellite service literally covers the complete planet!

For those who have children, think about how beneficial that could be. Your teenager is out on a date, or even a little road trip with friends (Spring Break, possibly?) Your child will constantly have a direct line to you, and you'll in no way have to be concerned about no matter if or not you are even going to get a call inside the event that something happens. All they'll need to do is choose up the phone and dial.

It also gives senior citizens to have slightly extra freedom when travelling. For older people that like to obtain out and see the world right after retirement, having constant cellular phone service indicates that aid is Often just a telephone call away if they require it.
