For today's update I would like to present an opinion of those that are, in my educated opinion, the Top 3 Phone Unlocking Software Sites on the web. Every one of these applications is capable to unlock your phone or device pretty much on its own. You simply install the software application. If you are going to jailbreak a device, don't try to become a hacker and do it without any help. Grab one of these applications and get it accomplished in five minutes flat. In descending order of quality, the following are my best choices...
1)Automatic iPhone Unlocker
These guys are the creme de la creme. The first time I used it, I walked away thinking that it would take awhile, but didn't get any further than my fridge before it "dinged" to let me know that it had finished. Unlocking phones is a bit of a sideline business of mine, and I've used this app myself on over 25 phones and iPads for clients and customers, as well as friends. All you have to do is download it to your PC (or Mac), install it, hit "Jailbreak" and then wait maybe 5 minutes for the process to finish. You just hit the button that says "jailbreak", and it finds your phone on the USB port and does it's thing. Even more important to me, this app does a complete jailbreak. I've used other packages that only do an incomplete break. What does this mean? With a complete jailbreak, you can not only install 3rd party apps, but you can also use the device on 3rd party carriers other than ATT (which Apple forces on you). With an incomplete jailbreak, you can install 3rd party apps, but are still stuck with ATT. Some people don't like the fact that this company only takes PayPal, but hey - to me that says that they are reputable and plan on being around for awhile. So anyway, for various, this is my top pick by far, and I give them a grade A-.
2. iJailbreak Machine
In addition another one that I've used recently. Better-than-average application in general. The total hack process (following the download) was completed in around 11 minutes, which is not that bad. They also takeaccepts Paypal. My primary complaint was that the site only offers an incomplete jailbreak. This is okay if you're unlocking device that is not Apple, or if you're okay with using your Apple device on Sprint. The cost is a touch lower as a result, so if you simply wish to hack your device and do not really have concern about using it on some other provider, or if you're usinga phone that is not an Apple, it can be a really great option. Similar to my #1 option, the instructions were very easy to follow.
A final complaint would be that customer service isn't offered live. Only over email. Overall rating: B
3. Global Unlocker for iPhone
This was product is adequate, earning it a place in the top 3. I've never been a huge fan, though, with the better alternatives that are available. They do offer a complete jailbreak. They don't accept Paypal, but they have been around for several years and are members with the BBB online. That's the best that I can say about them though. They claim that, like my top pick, they will crack a phone in less than 5 minutes. Wrong! At least in my experience. It took me thirty minutes and a call to their support center to get it cracked. This was, in large part, due to the fact that their instructions were unclear. And let's not forget that they cost almost twice as much as #s 1 and 2 above. Tech support was acceptable, and did talk me through it when I called the. They had a phone number to call (not just email) but it went to a helpdesk in India, and the guy's accent was a little tough to understand. Overall score of 3 stars.
