Features and Accessories for the Nexus S

By Peter Calmases

This is a smart phone with many great features that naturally encourages people to try and get their hands on it. The main focus of this article will be on how to get the best possible experience with your new device.

The first step to getting the most out of the Nexus S is to understand the operating system on which it runs a little bit more. The name of this latest version is Gingerbread, and the changes that come along with it are partially aesthetic, but they are also functional. The user interface has been changed so that it is easier to maneuver through and it is now more pleasant to look at.

When you use it, you will have to get used to things moving faster than before, as the operating system has been acknowledged by a host of users and early reviewers to be faster, more fluid, and more responsive than any previous Android based phone they have used. For the most part, the controls on the phone are generally the same as those found in previous editions and in similar styled phones such as the Galaxy S line by Samsung, but there are still enough differences to trip you up a bit if you assume everything will be just the same.

With all this in mind, something else to think about is the fact that there will be a lot of new and useful accessories hitting the market in the next few weeks to accompany the release of the smart phone. Some of these accessories will not be that useful, but some of them will add to your enjoyment of the phone, if not to your productivity. Two that will certainly add to both are an extra durable case and an extra little battery.

Many people do not need more reasons to purchase a case or a spare battery other than, a case will protect your device and well a battery will give you more power so that you may fully enjoy the features. The battery will allow you to do whatever you want to do on your smart phone for longer before you have to go searching for a charger and a place to plug it into. Although the Nexus S comes with a fairly decent battery out of the box, it never hurts to have some extra juice. Similarly, a good case will keep your phone from getting nicked while you're on the move.
