Wii DVD Software Can Now Be Downloaded

By Jerry Miles

No one can deny the fact that Nintendo Wii games are indeed well-known to everyone nowadays. As a result of that gained popularity, their sales are getting higher, and their income is moving upward too. But since these games are not available for free and some people just don't want to spend extra money anymore, an alternative to what Nintendo is offering has been made.

That said alternative is answered by Wii Homebrew. This time, you can already run a different software on your Wii with the use of Homebrew. It allows software that is not even licensed nor sanctioned by Nintendo to function on your console. Homebrew uses homemade games and game engines and also makes you play DVD through your own Wii.

One important thing that you should know about this software is that it is free. Therefore, do not entertain those operators who might be selling these tools to take advantage of someone's innocence. For some business reasons, Nintendo is against the use of Wii Homebrew basically because that means people won't be obliged to use their tools anymore since they already have another option to choose from. This option for a free software was made by several people to satisfy their curiosity and for fun too.

Anyone can now have access to these Wii Homebrew installers. In the past, it is a hard task to allow foreign code to run on the Wii. Such task requires a person to change the programming inside the console by physically changing the Wii console and use a mod chip. Thanks to those who made the newest Homebrew available because that made the process easier. With this Homebrew, you don't have to physically change your console anymore. Thus, it keeps the guarantee of the device and it gives you more convenience too. All you need is an SD card for you to play on the Wii.

Nintendo Wii is not that perfect to its users before. One thing it lacked was the DVD playback feature. Now, due to public demand and with the effort of some people, that concern is no longer a problem. Wii DVD is now available on the Wii; therefore you can now be entertained more by this device. Another good thing is that with this, it is still possible to play DVD on the Wii without using a mod chip anymore.

There are four easy things to perform for you to play DVD on Wii. Installing the Wii Homebrew Channel to the Wii is the first step. After that, you also have to install an MPlayer so that the DVD disc will just run like a normal DVD player. To enable DVD playback, you also have to install the DvdX loader program. The last thing to do to complete the process is to fire up your Homebrew channel, start the MPlayer, and from the list on the menu, choose the DVD that you want to use. The disc can then be used just like how you do it on a normal DVD player.
