By Ralph Hornando

With the number of available cell phone plans on the increase, the only way to ensure you get the right cell phone for your needs is to stick with one that provides just what you require. With all those different plans and companies trying to convince you to go with them, you may be forgiven for feeling a little confused by it all but some research will make things clearer.

For those people that believe their usage would be better suited to a monthly cell phone plan then the consideration is having a charge for each minute used or by the second. You need to assess your usage frequency and requirements before you decide on any scheme.

You also have the option of having a family plan or one based on the region in which you live. All of these have their own benefits although there are also disadvantages.

Be aware though that many prepaid cellular phones do not always have all the features of their monthly pay cousins. Other schemes that include families for instance, have advantages for family and small business use.

For the family user, cellular phone usage discounts are included if you call members of the family that you list on the same bill. Family plans often include airtime discounts for members of this type of family plan.

The national cell phone plan usually attracts large businesses and organizations with offices and operatives Nationwide. Roaming charges on this type of plan are usually included as part of the agreement and anyone that travels around the country will see the obvious benefits of this type of scheme.

If you only require a regional plan then be aware that if you make national calls then these will be chargeable but probably at a discounted rate. Prepaid cell phone plans are often the preferred type for travelers and business people as the traditional plan without roaming and long-distance charges might be best.

Remember, having a cell phone and being available all the time may not be healthy, thus, you have to be wary not to allow people disturb you when you need to be alone with or without your cell phone.
