A Lifeline During An Emergency

By Giles Haliger

How many times have we heard that people have been stuck in dire situations such as a blizzard or a snow storm or even in their own homes without any contact or any help? This makes it very important that we should be prepared for such situations by being able to access emergency help lines for sudden communication.

To serve the above purpose, the Federal Communications Commission has made to mandatory that all telephones must have the ability to dial 911 for an emergency situation even if they have not activated it. There are those in the society who may not be able to purchase a cell instrument due to the cost being prohibitive and to help them instruments are provided at a very low cost to help them tide over difficult situations.

These are available at low cost as there are many donors out there who give away their old instruments to charity institutions. You could also give away your old cell phone and this will have the added advantage of reducing the clutter in the house. You could help someone by donating it otherwise it would simply be occupying place as wastage or rotting away in a wasteland.

These helpline instruments are available in both basic forms as well as with a variety of features at different prices. One can settle for the basic model which does not have any payment involved in it but can just use it for calling helpline at 911. If you go for a more advance type of instrument you can allow people to track your location in case of need with the help of GPS features. You are free to choose your own plan to fit your budget constraints and to suit your individual requirements.

Here users can ask questions, make suggestions and recommendations or you can just contribute your expert opinion.
