The Advantages Of Wireless Monitoring Systems

By Mark Ferguson

One of the most effective protective devices on the market today is wireless monitoring systems. With high technology engineering, these systems are now produced at a price that is affordable in any situation. In addition to being less expensive than the older models, they are also easier to install and do not have to be wired to cameras or audio devices.

Many parents use this device for monitoring children, but it has many other uses as well. Its units can be placed anywhere desired, throughout the home in convenient locations. Their sophistication can even give warnings of a garage door left open.

When something goes amiss, the owner can be informed by e-mail, a portable key fob or a text message, when away from home. When at home, an actual alert sound can be heard. An additional factor is that this device is user friendly and does not require a professional to install.

The system consists of a book-sized base station and sensors that are battery powered. The sensors come with double-sided tape so they are easy to apply or move to another location. There is also an add-on motion detector available.

These devises have been in use in industrial environments for a number of years. Patient monitoring in rest homes and hospitals is one that is very well known. Other businesses and commercial buildings also have them as they will send out an alarm even when a land-line telephone cannot be used or there is an electrical blackout.

In emergency situations such as phone lines being cut or a hostage situation, the wireless monitoring systems have been able to transmit an alarm to the proper authorities. Retail stores and banks that are subject to robberies have also found them extremely effective. An added feature is that it can be used as a fire alarm.
