Applications for the Apple iPad 2

By Gareth Jale

Techonlogy is rapidly increasing and as it increases it is changing the way that consumers interact with business. While not all technological advances can be pinned to the release of the iPad 2, its overall significance cannot be ignored. The reality is that the iPad 2 is a powerful business tool, and the bulk of its power comes from useful application. Fortunately, there are a wide range of business applications available in the iTunes store. But finding the right ones for your business can be a challenge.

iWork for iPad is exactly what it sounds like, a condensed version of Apple's iWork suite condensed down for iPad. One of the top business applications for iPad 2, iWork for iPad consistently finds its way to the top 10 lists of blogs and tech news sites on a regular basis. It also has a very hands-on and easy to use interface. The only downside to this program is that there is a small fee involved. The other main downside is that this app uses a lot of battery power. If you use the iWork app for long periods of time, be sure you have the charger with you at all times.

Evernote is a very popular application both the Apple OS and even for Android powered smart phones and tablets. The app allows for quick and easy note taking. Not only that, but you can sync all your notes to Facebook, Twitter as well as to your Mac or PC laptop. This can be a very essential program for small business owners. As you have important ideas, or to-do lists you can jot them down on-the-go, and immediately sync them to your preferred mobile device. WebEx provides a means for both the small and large business owner to setup and lead online meetings. One of the greatest things about this program is not that you can set up online meetings but the greatest thing is that it is completely free. This program also features a built-in chat client and a 2 way audio function.

Bento is an application that will provide business owners with a user-friendly database. Bento comes with over 25 built-in templates for a wide variety of uses. Whether you're putting together a complex work schedule, or managing both small and large inventories, Bento may be the solution for your small business.

There is also the DropBox application for Apple. Though a seemingly basic utility application, DropBox is a powerful cloud-based data backup tool for both small and large business owners alike. Additionally, the app is available for free in the iTunes app store. DropBox does provide three types of pricing plans to meet your needs. The free version gives you 250 MBs to work with. If you are on a shoestring budget, you can refer friends and colleagues. For each friend who signs up for the service, DropBox will award you 250 MBs. They also have monthly pricing plans available for 50 and 100 GBs of storage.

Business programs may not be the only thing you will want to consider for your device, you may want to think about appropriate accessories. If you are a mobile business owner who is always on the move, a case will protect your screen and outer housing from significant damage.
