Introducing the Sony KDL37W5810

By Kristine Dougherty

The Sony Bravia KDL37W5810 utilises the new Bravia Engine in this TV. By making the most of the latest technology, they have made a cornerstone in home entertainment.

Sony have designed the KDL37W5810 to fit into any room with the inconspicuous piano black casing. It is also ultra thin and can be placed on any entertainment table easily. They do have a swivel base, letting you adjust the television set to any angle, so you can position it where you want it, and not have to rearrange the room to get the perfect seat.

This is a HD ready television set and has the 1080i, which makes a huge difference in the quality of the picture. They also include a digital tuner and a Freesat, which gives you hundreds of radio and television channels, and these two technologies negate the need for cable and extra equipment to watch the television set. When you plug HD devices into one of the 4 HDMI slots, the remote becomes universal for those items, making it convenient to use. You have one remote not several.

The colour on the Sony KDL37W5810 is well above any expectations. Live Colour gives the hues the added pop, making the hues true to life and vibrant. It can be adjusted, so you get the best colour based on your preferences, not a computer. The Advanced Contrast Enhancer also gives you true blacks, making the screen come alive with depth.

The new and improved Bravia Engine 3 makes the picture and audio on the KDL37W5810 television crystal clear and the colour has brilliance to it. For fast paced scenes, the Image Blur technology can let you see all the actions as it happens with no fuzziness or skipping. When you watch movies, True Cinema can let you see it as you would at the theatre, and how it was meant to be seen, by showing the original 24 frames per second instead of the digitally altered version.

Sony is also leading the pack with their Eco Settings. When used, it can use up to 30% less energy, and pass these savings onto your bills. With the light sensor, the back light on the KDL37W5810 can be mechanically adjusted based on the available light, and the power mode can help to conserve energy.

You can also access the internet with the Sony KDL37W5810 using the Applicast to tap into Sony's widgets. The DLNA network can let you hook up your PC or laptop. You can also add more videos, music and photos with the USB port and even customise the Picture Frame mode and make your screen saver special.

The S-Force driven audio is some of the best sound on any television. It copies the way the ear process sound instead of making the sound waves bounce at you, giving you true surround sound. If you have trouble haring dialogue, then the Voice Volume option on the Sony Bravia KDL37W5810 can help endure that you never miss any again. You can also use Steady Sound to keep you relaxed with no change in the volume from program to commercial, instead of having to keep altering the volume yourself.

The KDL37W5810 is one of the best televisions on the market with the best all around performance by the leaders in home electronics.
