Cell Phones And How They Rate

By Steve Gates

Which cell phone is the right one for you? There are literally hundreds of choices for cell phones from which to choose, so it is wise to read up on them. You can go online to research, or read various magazines devoted just to the promotion of cell phones. Publications such as "Consumer Reports" have done the most in-depth research as well as checking into materials used to manufacture them and the consequences of their use.

There are endless choices for today's consumer, and it is just as easy to be confused. For those who are detail oriented, it can be a frustrating nightmare just to decipher the language and contract terms associated with each phone. Try to prepare yourself before hand by reading online reports or publications such as "Consumer Reports" to get a more in depth description of each phone and its functions. Applications are also an important point to consider, since you need to find what will work for your lifestyle or business.

What is the best way to decide? As with every other product on the market, it all depends on the supply and demand offered in the marketplace. Take a poll among your relatives to see what they prefer. What do your friends use? What do they recommend and how do they feel about their current cell phone. How do they use it - strictly as a cell or do they prefer other applications as well, such as calendars, to-do lists and contacts? What are their ratings for the cell phones they currently own and would they choose something else in the future. Word of mouth advertising and endorsements are usually the most effective, and can actually make or break a company's product line.

Word of mouth is always the best seal of approval. With the Internet, if something doesn't work the manufacturer will know about it quickly, as misinformation or praise can be spread in an hour. Although there can be some erroneous information floating around its best to look at everything available.

Cell phones created a major shift in how the world communicates today, and with the glut of such products available to the consumer, it is easy to be taken advantage of and pay a higher cost than what is really needed for a basic phone. Take your time and do your homework to make sure what is the best phone for you.
