Genetically Modified Food, A Hazardous Alternative

By Anthony Zesker

Genetically modified food continues to be in the news a great deal previous couple of years.

Also referred to as GM meals, these types of substances are hybrid's that have been modified at the molecular level before being consumed. Typically, it is crops that have been designed by people in a lab by using different biology strategies, scary!

Traditionally, new crops would be produced via breeding, but that may be time consuming, and there is no guarantee the outcome is going to be what you would like. So rather, biologists modify an current crop to offer them specifically the traits they want in a extremely effective and fast manner through gene engineering. Okay, you ought to be getting nervous now. Have you been catching this, these companies and researchers are playing God in a lab by trying to recreate meals.

Needless to say, this type of genetic experiment has brought a lot of controversy, with individuals rallying to protest against genetically modified food, specifically in the European Union, in which a series of laws were passed in a variety of countries. Essentially, nearly all of Europe has banned genetically modified food. And I'd like to congratulate Boulder, CO where all of the citizens rose up and collectively by means of legislature had genetically modified food banned within their community! All other cities and states need to follow suit!

What are a few of the positive aspects and drawbacks of Genetically Modified Food?

You will find no benefits to genetically modified food. These companies would lead you to think with Monsanto being the largest culprit, that there are two principal motives for the creation of genetically modified food. First, to enhance crop yields and second, to reduce herbicides, effectively neither has materialized. It has been statistically proven that the crop yields haven't elevated and there continues to be no reduction in herbicides or pesticides, none!

A crucial point of note, Monsanto was the authentic creator of "agent orange" in the Vietnam war as well as the key chemical identified in agent orange is now utilized in Monsanto's other toxic killer, the common Roundup! 80% of all genetically modified crops are sprayed with Roundup and 75% of all processed meals now includes genetically modified food!

There have been numerous complaints about GMO's. One such complaint will be the unintended consequences against other species. By way of example, some forms of butterflies are acknowledged to survive on very specific forms of plants made by God, but cannot consume genetically modified ones, and may perish due to it. An additional concern is the transmission of those new traits to other species, such as weed. If crops are bred to become resistant to pesticide, and they interbreed with some weed, then they too may become significantly tougher to deal with.

The biggest concern nevertheless could be the unknown impact gene treatment can have on human wellness. By introducing foreign genes into crops, that could produce new allergens, which has already occurred or other unknown results when men and women consume GMO's.

Case in point, we already realize that the herbicides in Roundup are lethal to frogs and toxic to human placental & embryonic cells. Genetically modified food is already linked to the following;

Allergenic

Toxic

Carcinogenic

Anti-nutrition

Cancer causing

Creates "Super-Viruses"

On account of these concerns, and how prevalent genetically modified food has turned out to be, governments around the world have been hard at work creating laws and regulations to control this kind of research. Each country approaches this topic differently. In Europe for instance, protesters have been really active, and many countries previously have strict laws in place. Inside the US however, there's numerous government organizations that oversee genetically modified food, but few regulations have been passed so far, what a shock! We are just backwards in this country, it is all about the benjamins and curbing population.

How to Protect Yourself From Genetically Modified Food

First "read the labels", every time, and stay away from everything with the following in it;

Maltodextrin

Soy lecithin

High fructose corn syrup

Papayas from Hawaii

Milk with rbGH

Aspartame or Nutrasweet or any of those little chemical packages

Also, stay away from soybeans, corn, corn flour, corn meal, dextrin, starch, soy sauce, margarine and tofu unless it is clearly marked as "USDA Organic". If it is not marked as USDA organic then there is an 80% chance it is genetically modified food.

The absolute best way to avoid genetically modified food is to eat organic fruits and vegetables and stay away from foods in a box, packaged or wrapped in plastic. This will be the best wellbeing care plan you can have for you and your family!

You can find a lot of good quality products that are not genetically modified food where you can get your 6-8 servings organic fruits and veggies in one serving, NatraBurst is one I use and trust!
