Verizon FIOS Bundle Deals - What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Bundled Services

By Tracy Davis

Many companies are competing with one another in order to reign supreme in the world of telecommunication, cable and internet. It is not enough for them to provide excellent and affordable stand-alone services, it's because more and more people are looking for services that provide more value and quality on a price that they can afford. This is the reason why many companies have come up with bundled offers, such as the Verizon FIOS bundle deals of Verizon and the Comcast Xfinity of Comcast. Yes, these bundles are advantageous, but they also have disadvantages.

Advantages

No matter what kind of bundled offer it may be, a subscriber would get more value with 2 or 3 services than a single stand-alone internet, cable or telephone service. Often times, these bundled offers come with a lot of features in order to provide more value to consumers. Moreover, having these bundles will let you avoid the inconveniences of preparing two or three separate checks each and every month. It's because subscribing to bundles means you'll only receive a single bill.

Bundled services are actually inexpensive, even if you have 2 or 3 services in a single bundle. The price that you have to pay for will be half or a fraction of the total costs of 2 or 3 individual services. However, bundled services have a huge price range, depending on the offers and features of each bundle. Basic bundled packages that have few options and features are very cheap. On the other hand, the more advanced and better the packages, the higher would be the price.

The best thing about most bundled services like the Verizon FIOS bundle deals is that they offer free equipment and installation. Aside from that, a subscriber will have the opportunity to upgrade to another bundled without having to pay a lot. Now if a person is using a single stand-alone service only, there are some companies that offer free switching to bundled service.

Disadvantages

Some people believe that only the major companies can benefit with these kind of bundled services and not the local ones. It is because it would be easier for them to provide bundled offers with the vast networks they have. In short, they are creating a monopoly and they are slowly killing off the small competition, which is actually necessary in the economy.

Verizon FIOS bundle deals and other bundled offers don't tell the truth, in terms of hidden fees and charges. Subscribers may be impressed with the bundle at the start only to find out that they have to qualify for it first, like subscribing to this particular service, getting this additional equipment or any other reasons. Aside from that, the discounted offer maybe at start only.
