Get the Upper Hand with a Night Spy Camera

By Steve Thibeault

There was a time when homeowners or business operators used to dread nightfall if they lived or operated within an area that was prone to security breaches. If they had valuable assets to protect or resources to oversee they would often find that they had to invest in expensive and additional security personnel for patrol purposes. In more recent times, however, they have been able to rely on increasingly cutting edge technology and now have a variety of night spy cameras to help them see, like a cat.

When you use a night spy camera you will in theory be turning darkness into daylight and can you choose from a variety of models according to your level of requirements. Infrared technology features the use of a number of powerful LEDs, with the more featured the clearer your finished result will be.

Night spy cameras rely on invisible infrared light emitted from the infrared illuminators contained within. You should choose your unit according to the depth of field and the desired clarity.

As the majority of night spy cameras can be connected to your recording gear without wires, there is little limit to where you can place them. Thus if you suspect that your garage, storage facility or warehouse is prone to invasion during the middle of the night, you should put your cameras into use and record what is about to happen.

Night spy cameras can also be used during the day and will normally contain a digital CCD chip that automatically switches between color and black and white in low light conditions, optimizing the recordable result. Professional versions have up to sixty infrared LEDs which are able to record an event up to 60 feet away in total darkness.

If you need to provide proof of an activity that is, or that you suspect is, taking place on or around your property, you should choose a model of night spy camera that allows you to record this in high resolution. Most cameras come with free receivers, which can be connected to your computer or recording device.

Choose a night spy camera with fewer LED lights if you want a unit which is a lot easier to hide. Sometimes you do not want an intruder to be able to see that you have a device in place. However, even the smaller devices will return a good result for you.

While a determined criminal may always feel that he has the advantage of stealth, a prepared business, home or property owner may achieve the upper hand by installing a night spy camera to level the playing field. As deterrence is often a good approach to take, you should display prominent notices outside your property advising anyone that day and night vision hidden cameras are in operation.
