Why The Office Phone System Will Make An Organization Get More Done

By Colt E. Douglas

Any business that upgrades its office phone system will get more done every day. When it was devised, the telephone was a simplistic device, and was not amended much for many decades. Once the Internet had found its way into modern society, people soon saw the potential for further ways to stay in touch. The cell phone was the first development, bringing calling into a mobile domain and adding text and video calling as well as Internet access and online features. This presented to the world what was possible, and landlines were soon the next target for redevelopment.

The Internet phone system is configured to run on a single connection, and can still send and receive high amounts of data every second. Simply put, it can accept and make more than one call at a time on just one line. It can take the place of a large and bulky switchboard desk and requires fewer dedicated staff and takes less time to configure and monitor. Someone at a single desk can have local, national and international phone numbers all feeding through to their station. Sales teams can even operate 'local' campaigns all over the world from one call center.

People commonly use this style of office phone system particularly for the multi-way calling facilities. This will make discussions with other staff quicker and cheaper, and there will be no need to make follow-up calls to relay the previous call's messages. Secretaries will have an easier time organizing appointments, and budgets will get a much needed reprieve from costly travel expenses. A conversation that could go back and forth for hours between several workers can simply happen once with everyone listening in on the line.

It is much harder to bring in the same profits as before the recession, which is why many workers are being driven to their breaking point with their work volumes. Some companies expect more, pay less, and provide substandard conditions in which to do this. Getting more done in each day is an achievable and easy goal with a new small office phone system and is less of a burden on the finances than a landline. The savings in costs with the digital infrastructure could total thousands in a single year.

It will be normal to expect a few companies to delay the chance to move over for the time being. Voice over IP is still a fairly new technology in the world of commerce and it is reasonable to be skeptical. This is not an issue as it is a technology that is here to stay, and will be ready when those companies eventually find their reason to upgrade.
