Bluetooth - Wave of the Future

By Anuja Smithson

Bluetooth headsets sales have been more than doubling on a global basis for the last several years. We are talking in the hundreds of millions sold. So what is the hype? Why are Bluetooth headsets so popular? For starters they are chosen not only for their functionality but also for their wearability. Bluetooth headsets are generally very lightweight, worn over one ear and achieve talk times from 1-4 hours before needing a recharge.

Bluetooth headsets have become very popular because they allow you to connect to your phone via a continous wireless connection, therefore preventing you from getting tangled up in wires. Some bluetooth headsets let you stay connected to your phone from up to 30 ft away or more. This means you can go about your work in a room or office without having to take your phone along with you.

The benefits of bluetooth headsets are somewhat obvious, but you may find yourself disappointed if you buy a model that isn't exactly what you had imagined. Below, you'll find a list of things that our product specialists recommend our customers to consider before buying a bluetooth headset.

Hence, a 10th century Danish king, Harald Blatand, is where the "Bluetooth" got its name. Blatand I unified Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. The king had an affinity for teeth-staining blueberries, according to legend.

One headset manufacturer in particular is Samsung. Samsung has demonstrated its versatility in the mobile industry by targeting the rapidly-growing mobile accessory market with the launch of some new Bluetooth headsets. Their latest Bluetooth headsets are elegantly designed and have superb sound quality. Samsung produces some of the smallest and lightest Bluetooth headsets found in the world. Samsung even produces headsets with No Earhooks that stays put in your ear like the Samsung Wep200.

Make sure your cell phone is bluetooth enabled. Bluetooth must be turned on in order to "pair" the headset to your phone for a continuous connection. See the headset's and your phone's manual for instructions on how to "pair" the devices.

Bluetooth headsets offer a convenient and user-friendly wireless connection. This is with the use of a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone. With its 30 feet range (10 meters) capacity, cell phones can talk with other headsets using this technology. Aside from this, PCs can talk to keyboards or printers as well. Thus, talking with each other, without the need for wires can make up about seven connections at a single time. This is even with a speed of 1 Mbps.

No matter which bluetooth you choose, most well known manufacturers make a quality headset. Your choice will boil down to what features and options you want to have. Do your research and find which one offers the features you need and want at a price that meets your budget.
