Become An Iphone Expert With These Tips

By Aldrin Trajano

These days, it seems as if everyone has a smartphone. One of the most popular brands of smartphone is Apple's iPhone. With these devices, there are any number of amazing things you can do to make your life easier. The following tips will help you get the most from your iPhone.

Try talking your data entry instead of typing it. iPhones with the newest operating system give you the ability to do this. When you see the virtual keyboard, look for the small microphone button to the left of the space bar. When you click that, you can speak what you want to type. You'll be surprised at how well, and how quickly, it works!

When you are in the Safari section on your iPhone, toggle between different pages that you visit. You can open up to eight pages that will each come in very clear on your phone. This function is very beneficial if you have multiple things to do and do not want to lose the initial page that you were on.

Enable restrictions. If someone young is using the iphone, you can set mature content restriction. Alternatively, you may have some content you don't want anyone else happening upon. You can set a restriction on particular pieces of content to make sure no one other than yourself has access to them.

Did you know that iPhones can take screenshots just like a computer can? In order for you to take a screenshot from your iPhone, hold down your phone's home button and afterwards press the Sleep button. You'll then hear a camera click, see a flash, and then a screenshot of your iPhone will be saved in your Camera Roll.

A great benefit of having an iPhone is that you do not need to purchase a GPS system for your far. The iPhone contains an accurate GPS system. Since the iPhone's GPS system already knows current location, simply put in your desired destination and you will receive concise directions, just as you would with a regular GPS system.

You don't need to hit the Shift button following the end of a sentence on an iPhone. The phone automatically uses a capital letter for the next word following the space after an ending punctuation mark. You can override this feature by going to Settings, looking under General, and going to Keyboard. Locate Auto-Capitalization and turn it off.

If you encounter a problem while using your iPhone and have to reboot your device, try holding the home button for about five seconds. If that does not work, you will have to hold the home button and the on/off button for about ten seconds. Rebooting your iPhone is the best thing to do if your device freezes.

Stream your favorite movies and games through your iphone now. Iphones now hold contracts with the premier streaming companies, so you can watch Netflix and Hulu right on your iphone. This is a great feature to have if you are sitting in the back of a vehicle on a long road trip, or a have a long bus ride ahead of you.

If you're sending messages to friends who don't use iPhones themselves, remember that longer messages will get broken into 160-character texts. You can keep an eye on your messages' length by adding a character counter to iMessage. Just open the Settings menu and go to "character count" under "messages." With the counter enabled, you'll never have to worry about a message getting broken at an unfortunate point again!

If you're any kind of iPhone photographer, you already know that the volume up button on the side of your phone can be used to take snapshots. Were you aware that ANY volume up button can operate your camera, including the one on your headset cord? Increase your photographic flexibility by using the cord volume controls to take pictures from a distance.

If you use your iPhone for a limited number of your favorite apps, consider rearranging your icons to make accessing them much quicker. By moving your most-used apps to the first home screen, you will save a lot of time. This ensures that you can quickly and easily find the information that you need.

The iPhone will often suggest a word when you type something in with the keyboard that it thinks you have misspelled. If you wish to dismiss this word, just tap anywhere on the screen. This keeps you from having to tap the "x" at the end of the word, and it can help to keep you going with your train of thought.

Use your iphone to watch videos online with ease. Thanks to the YouTube application, you have access to millions of videos with just the touch of your finger. All you need to do is a search for the kind of video you wish to see and then press play so that you can view it.

To make your favorite website a little faster and a whole lot easier, set it as your homepage. Although you can't do this as smoothly as you can in Safari on the Mac, you can access your preferred page easily with just one extra tap. Add the page to your bookmark's list, and then make sure it is at the top of the list. That way, you are only a couple of taps away from your favorite page.

If there's any smartphone you should be using, it's the iPhone. The iPhone is a top of the line smartphone that has many features that set it apart from the rest of the smartphones on the market.
